This wooden pusher with silicone seal is a great upgrade to the regular wooden for when you are processing soft ingredients such as soft fruits, softer apples, pineapple, some greens or stringy ingredients such as celery.

The tolerances between the twin gears are very tight on the Angel Juicer to maximise yield and ingredients are processed in stages.  This however means that when you press down and there are too many ingredients still in the first juicing section, these can be pushed back up the feed-in chute with the normal wooden pusher.  So unless you feed things slowly and make sure you process every piece of produce before you put in the next piece there could be some backup involved. Especially if you’ve juiced around a litre of juice.  This doesn’t mean the juicer overflows, it simply means that ingredients get pushed up the sides of the wooden pusher which can be unnecessarily messy.

The silicon ring fits perfectly flush with the inside of the feed-in chute so no air or ingredients can get past.  As you’re feeding things into the chute, this silicone seal forces any excess pulp right back down without it being able to escape upwards.  You would feel the force against the pusher and get an overall better juicing experience.
